Hayley's Five!

Hayley's birthday is always a cause for celebration, but this year, instead of multiple parties with family and friends, we decided to just throw one big shebang. And one BIG shebang it was!

We let Hayley open her presents from Mom and Dad at home, before her party. She was so happy, and so excited for her big birthday party!

We rented out a room at the Fitness Center, and invited anyone and everyone Hayley wanted to, including my family, Jer's family including all the "friend cousins" and Hayley's friends from preschool, dance, my mom's work at the Fitness Center, church, and the neighborhood. That amounted to about 50 people, which was fine, since I didn't think that everyone would come.

Yeah, just about everyone we invited came. :)

The kids started out coloring their goody bags and playing with Play-Doh.

And then sat down to wait for their turn to hit the pinata.

With a pool noodle. Because 25 kids and a bat don't mix.

Then it was time for the cake. Spongebob cake, and Hayley's insistence. (And my agreeing only because it was her birthday, and she really, really wanted it.)

We finished off with some playtime in the Edutainment Center play area.

With a party like that being the way her birthday year started, I'm pretty sure Hayley is excited to be five. I'm still a little in denial I think, that my little girl is growing up. There are some things I love about her getting older though. Like how big of a helper she can be (especially with Jackson), how she will clean up her own messes (sometimes with prompting, sometimes without), how she loves to play games and read books (just like her mom), how sometimes she totally talks like she is a little adult, how she still loves to cuddle, how not a day goes by that she doesn't "make me something" (a Valentine, a picture, a card), and how darling she is, and how much she loves her family.

Happy Birthday to the sweetest little five year old we know!

Wheeler Farm Pics

Last weekend, the kids and I met up with my old friend Lyndsey from college. She is a teacher, mom, pro cupcaker (as seen here on Good Things Utah), and a terrific photographer. She took these darling photos of my darlings. These are just a few of my many, many faves from her shoot.

I love them.

So glad we didn't get snowed or rained out.

And that she caught all this cuteness on camera.

Especially since she did all this to help this sweet family in their adoption process. All the proceeds she made at her shoots on Saturday went to the Cerans. What a wonderful way apply your talent to a great cause, right? Lyndsey is kind of amazing like that.
